Initial appointments
Your first sports therapy session will begin with a comprehensive assessment to understand your body, movement patterns and underlying issues contributing to pain, dysfunction or injury risk.
During this in-depth appointment, I will carry out:
Postural assessment – to identify imbalances or compensation that may be affecting your alignment or contributing to discomfort.
Range of motion testing- to assess how freely and effectively each joint and muscle group moves both actively and passively.
Joint assessment – to evaluate joint mobility and stability, detecting any restriction or hyper/hypomobility that may impact movement
Muscle testing – to determine strength activation and any imbalances between muscle groups that could be affecting your performance or causing strain.
Following the assessment, I will discuss my findings with you, explain the likely causes of your symptoms and create a customised treatment and exercises plan. This may include hands on therapy, rehabilitation exercises and strategies to improve movement, prevent injuries and support long term recovery.
